Yampa Valley Sustainability Council (YVSC) is gearing up for our 16th annual ReTree event, taking place across three plantings this year: Saturday, Sept. 27, Sunday, Oct. 5 and Saturday, Oct. 11.
Volunteers of all ages are invited to join us for Planting #2 on Oct. 5 to plant 150 cottonwood and alder trees along the banks of the Yampa River at Chuck Lewis State Wildlife Area. Help us build community while planting trees that will increase shade along the river to reduce water temperatures, improve riparian habitat, and sequester carbon.
Volunteers will receive snacks and a free ReTree T-Shirt designed by local artist Jill Bergman.
